Teach children how to observe wildlife in your back yard from a simple blind that can double as a play house.  A blind is a structure that lets you look out at wildlife but prevents the wildlife from seeing you.   Find a location in a quiet corner of the yard, in some shade preferably, to place the blind.  You can create a structure out of wood or use tent canvas that you hang from a nearby tree branch.  Windows need to small, most blinds use a long rectangular shape instead of a square.  Place a bench or a couple of chairs inside so you can watch with your child.

Share your secret knowledge of the parks and green spaces of Central Texas. Is there a special view or overlook you always visit at a little known park? Is there a unusual rock that makes a great picnic table at your neighborhood greenspace? Is there a wonderful trail that too few now enjoy? Here is your chance to add to the collective knowledge. Post here at the Idea Tree, where user ideas seed the growing forest of knowledge. Include a photo or even a map! Others can add their comments or your idea could spark additional inspiration from others.
