Description:

Let's find out what birds we have here on an easy one-mile trail with a master naturalist. Learn to identify birds by sight or sound and hopefully see a bird you have not noticed before. The latest discoveries have been Osprey, Red bellied woodpecker, Bluebirds, American goldfinch and Painted buntings!

guide with group at trail headTo help you with bird identification, we will introduce you to Cornell's free app that shows you what bird you are hearing. You can download to your own phone if you wish.  Seeing the bird is so much fun and even more so when you can determine what it is by its feathers or song.

Call (254) 694-3793 or email Ranger Rita to sign up. Group sizes will be limited to 15 to allow all to fit the trail space and hear the speaker.

Meet at the Two Bridges Trail at 9 am to start your adventure.

You can bring your own binoculars or use one of our beginners sets available upon request for the first 12 that would like to use them.

You may also want to bring some water and wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.

Event is free with your paid park entry permit.  You may purchase online or at the office once it opens at 8:30 am.
